on southbank again with sculptors creating amazing things out of sand on the banks of the thames. I found it really interesting and bought to my mind the idea of temporary landscapes. land artists like Andy Goldsworthy have similar concepts, the idea that changes in nature effect or even destroy and change what has been created, as a landscape design or installation. Obviously as soon as the tide changes the sand sculputers will be submerged and destroyed but the temporary nature of them make them more interseting and special. The guys below were making a sort of grave and a target to throw coins onto, they were amazingly intricate. the design was for halloween (in a week) The head stone reads; " Here lies a sandy queen waiting for next halloween in seven days she will wake up so throw a coin and wish her luck."
