I attended ecobuild on the wednesday. During the day i attended several seminars the first was called 'Floods 'n' Suds' looking in depth at sustainable drainage in buildings and landscapes.
The most interseting seminar i attended was called 'Grow Fun' and it was a community project, encouraging people to grow their own fruit and vegetables whatever
their living situation. A group of people would get together to enable one person in the community to grow their own fruit and vegetables; building planters, planting seeds etc. then they in turn will help build someone elses vegetable garden. After a period of time the group would meet up again and have a meal out of the vegetables they had grown. i really like the idea of this.
The most interesting things i found in the main hall, were living walls and roofs. There were a lot of companies promoting them. I love the idea of using plants in buidlings as walls and roofs.
